Before We Went to War

This work began to emerge in late Fall 2002 when war was a possibility but not a fact, when we were seduced into believing that we must buy duct tape and prepare ourselves for terrorism and possible mass destruction, when we were alert and numb and waiting. It was at that time that I noticed Us, the Americans, wearing our red, white and blues, family units moving around like military operations with backpacks, maps & supplies, wearing the physiques and uniforms of an overindulged leisure based society. I noted our impatience and uncertainty.
