Marbles and Reds

Painted on 8" wooden panels. Painted in 2001 when I was returning to figurative work after years of "process" painting. I loved the discipline of painting small exacting objects. I fell in love with marbles with their reflective colors and shadows. I began acquiring them like crazy and arranging them exploring the visual dynamics of groups, teams and relationships. There are 12 in the Red series and about 20 in the Marbles.
